So I got back from Ota-kon on Monday, I know, "why are you just writing about it now?" because I'm a lazy bum who has no drive to do things like this that's why but anyway... on to the acutal point of this Journal :-D

I love Ota-kon! I'm gonna hate when I have to stop going, I hope I never have to stop going but life is never how you want it to go you know what I'm saying? Ota-kon is like the only fun thing I do during summer and it's totally worth every penny I spend on it and boy do I spend alot!! Who ever sad that anime is cheaper than crack liiieeed!!

I love the people that go to ota-kon, it's like coming home again! People have no shame at anime conventions and why should they? I mean people in anime don't have any shame so why should the people who watch it? There was this one group that ran up and down the con yelling "Butt Scratcher? Butt Scratcher!" It was hilarious and everyone was yelling it too. Then they also did Marco Polo that was just as funny, of course don't get me started on the conga line. The Naruto cosplayer got separated from one of the person in front of him and a Sasuke cosplayer jumped in his spot. It was insanely funny! Then when me and my cousin were waiting for the AMV contest to start people had laser pointers out and were pointing them at the screen to pass the time. They were playing fake pong and the red laser pointers were having a war with the green laser pointers. Laser pointers have never been so entertaining!

Of course one of my favorite things about con's are the Cosplayers of course, people get so into their costumes! It amazes me the amount of talent these people have, and the amount of patience and effort they put into all the details of the costumes. I wish I had that kind of talent. One thing that is cool about these conventions is that people want to have their picture taken most of the time and alot of times you have to work to get them. One time I saw an awesome Kurogane cosplayer from Tsubasa coming up the walk way. I jumped over several people in order to throw myself in front of this guy. I wasn't going to miss him!

One thing I noticed about the convention this year was the sheer number of minority groups who have started coming to the convention. Anime is definitely no longer a nerdy white persons thing anymore. It's so awesome!! Anime is finally getting the recognition it deserves in America!

OMG!!!!! I almost forgot to mention the awesome guy doing the dance to thriller in the middle of the convention dressed as dark link! He had quite a crowd. Props to you dude!!
